Nurse Practitioner (Family/Primary Care)
- Family Nurse Practitioner with 5+ years of combined urgent care and primary care experience; comfortable seeing adults and pediatrics and supporting underserved communities.
- Riverbend Community Health Clinic - Family Nurse Practitioner (2021-Present): Conduct patient assessments, diagnose and treat acute/chronic conditions, order labs/imaging, and manage follow-ups for a patient panel of ~900.
- Helped improve clinic throughput by implementing a new triage workflow and creating EHR templates to streamline documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and care coordinators on patient education, preventive screenings, and referrals; recognized for high patient satisfaction.
- Lakeside Medical Center - Emergency Department RN (2017-2021): Provided triage and direct patient care for high-acuity cases, assisted with trauma response, and precepted new nurses.
- Education/Certifications: MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner; BSN; AANP FNP-BC; DEA registered; BLS/ACLS; basic conversational Spanish.
Overview
- Add measurable outcomes (wait times, quality metrics, satisfaction scores) to validate impact.
- Clarify scope and cadence (visits/day, autonomy, procedures, patient mix) for NP experience.
- Tighten wording to show ownership and results vs. general responsibilities.
Suggestions
Rewrite the throughput bullet with a baseline, specific change, and quantified result. Example: "Reduced average door-to-provider time from 34 to 22 minutes over 10 weeks by redesigning triage steps and standardizing intake questions; built 6 EHR smartphrases to cut charting time ~2 minutes/visit."
"Improved throughput" is credible but too general; hiring teams look for concrete operational metrics (wait time, LWBS, provider capacity) and your direct contribution.

"Helped improve clinic throughput by implementing a new triage workflow and creating EHR templates to streamline documentation."
Expand the patient panel line to include daily volume, patient mix, and key chronic disease management outcomes. Example: "Manage ~900-patient panel (adult/peds; high diabetes/HTN prevalence), averaging 18-22 visits/day; adjusted meds per guidelines and improved A1c control (e.g., % <8) by X points in collaboration with RN care management."
Panel size alone does not convey workload, complexity, or clinical results. A few specifics make your NP scope and effectiveness easier to assess.
Referenced resume text
"...manage follow-ups for a patient panel of ~900."
Replace the generic satisfaction statement with a verifiable metric and what you did to achieve it. Example: "Maintained 4.7/5 patient experience rating (Press Ganey) by using teach-back for new diagnoses and closing-the-loop on referrals within 48 hours."
"High patient satisfaction" reads like a placeholder without a score, tool, or behavior tied to the outcome.
Referenced resume text
"...recognized for high patient satisfaction."
Quantify ED RN scope and precepting, and specify the environment. Example: "Triage RN in Level II ED (150+ visits/day); supported stroke/STEMI pathways and trauma activations; precepted 6 new graduate RNs and 3 experienced transfers, improving orientation completion to 100% on-time."
Your RN background is strong but currently lacks the volume/acuity indicators that show readiness and clinical judgment under pressure.
Referenced resume text
"Provided triage and direct patient care for high-acuity cases, assisted with trauma response, and precepted new nurses."
